A note of Idafe Martin for Clarín says the recently published manual of style and use of language, published by the European Parliament to end discrimination against women in official texts issued by the agency. The document comprises the 22 official languages \u200b\u200brecognized by the Parliament .

According to experts who drafted the handbook, the "generic use of masculine or neutral is increasingly perceived as discrimination against women." (source: Bugle )

Thus for sentences as "The Argentine" that leave out the female population, it is recommended to use "the Argentine people." In the same way, and to cite another example, the term "fireman" should be replaced with "firefighter." It is also recommended not to use the term "lady" referred to marital status and the emphasis on a definition of the person who would be granted only in relation with another man ("lady"), while the man is always "sir." (Seen in elcastellano.org ) More info in the diary country.
